When the Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) was first constructed, it was done to help people who wanted a theological education but were unable to for fear of accruing massive debt that would hinder their ability to minister in poorer communities. Children's Bible Fellowship's core mission is ministry to the forgotten fields of NYC. As a whole, we recognize the unique problems facing those involved in Urban ministry and we feel that by partnering with TUMI and New York Divinity School, we will be further able to help urban ministers and keep them from being hindered by limited education. Like Dr. Davis, the leadership team of Children's Bible Fellowship has come to see the need for an affordable and quality education for those ministering in our city communities so they can teach, counsel, and disciple with excellence. It is for this reason we have formed SALT.
