The Salary is determined by experience, education and availability.
I can not commit to the whole summer, could I still help out for a shorter amount of time?
Yes, we have nurses come for all different lengths of time. We have some nurses in our local area that just come on the days campers/guests arrive and help with the paperwork. Some nurses from the local area commit to working a whole day. Others have committed to a one-week session, two-week session or a whole month. Others will come in weekly.
How much time off does a nurse get?
Nurses working full time will be responsible to be on call 24 hours a day, 6 days per week unless otherwise worked out with the Medical Director. You will have one day off (24 hours) every 7 days. Keep in mind that there a break times or down times throughout the day. It will be your responsibility to update your replacement on what you have been doing and what needs done on your day off.
Is Transportation provided to the camp?
You are responsible to pay for your own transportation to camp and your return home. We do provide transportation to and from the airport, train, and bus station. On your days off there will be transportation available to you to go into NYC and into town.
Can I volunteer my time rather than being paid?
YES!
Do you provide liability insurance?
This is not provided by the camp. We strongly encourage you to come with your own medical liability insurance.
